Research

The School of the Built Environment undertakes high-quality, high-impact research in a number of diverse areas related to the built environment.

Our research and knowledge exchange activities span a range of diverse disciplines and we secure significant funding from a wide variety of sources including UK research councils, EU, governments, industry and professional bodies.

With at least 50% of research outputs confirmed as world-leading or internationally recognised in the UK’s Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) of 2008, the School holds a strong position both in the UK and internationally.
